Sonny Boy Mine located in the Conconully Mining District of Okanogan County WA.
The Sonny Boy claim was located in 1886 by George Melvin, who staked it at the Arizona load claim. Rich parts of the vein contained as much as $260 per ton in gold and silver. Other than short shafts and adits very little work was done at the property.
In 1935 the property was taken over by the Ruby Mountain Mining Company, and in 1937 five tons of ore was shipped to the Tacoma Smelter. The returns from this shipment had a net value of $28.64, per ton which barely paid the mining and transportation costs. The mining and milling proved to be unprofitable and mining ceased in 1940.
