The Philo Mine (Prospect) is located in Glacier Basin of the Monte Cristo Mining District Snohomish County WA.
The Philo mine was staked in June of 1890. Gold, Silver, and Copper were sought. In 1905 the Philo was equipt with gasoline engine operated two bucket aerial tramway extended from the Philo mine 1800 feet to Mystery Hill.
The Philo mine consists of about 800 feet of underground workings. According to a U.S. Geological Survey from 300,000 tons of ore containing 0.37 ounces of gold, .80 ounces of silver per ton. The workings consisted of a 735 foot adit with a 105 foot long crosscut.
