The Red Bird mine is located in Snohomish County Washington.  This mine was part of the Wayside mine group.  The Wayside group dates to the early 1900's with the last known work being done in the 1950's.

The mine never produced any ore of value.

The mine consists of about 300 feet of workings with a drift.  The primary ores sought here were copper, gold, silver, lead and zinc. 
ghost town (noun): a once-flourishing town wholly or nearly deserted usually as a result of the failure of some economic activity.
