Old Toroda was a town in Okanogan County which formed around 1897. Toroda came into existence after gold was discovered nearby.  Toroda originally consisted of about 25 structures.  Most of the structures were mad of logs.  In 1898 Toroda was said to have a population of 471 people.  The site became known as Old Toroda when it was left by its inhabitants who created a new Toroda near Toroda Creek. Today very little remains of the Toroda of old.

Bolster was a small community formed in 1898.  Bolster was named for Spokane financier Herman Bolster. The boom occurred in Bolster around 1899 which brought stores, saloons, newspaper and a post office. In 1909 the post office at Bolster closed. By 1916 very few people remained.

A partial cabin is the only remaining structure today.

The only other structure at Toroda a collapsed cabin on the former main street.

One of the only complete cabins at Toroda remaining today.
