Nighthawk was a former mining town located on the Similkameen River in Okanogan County.  Nighthawk's beginnings date to 1903.

Nighthawk bosted a general store, the Nighthawk hotel, railraod depot, and saloon. As the mining in nighthawk began to waiver, the town became what it is today.  Today Nighthawk is a snapshot of the former mining days captured in time.

The Nighthawk mining district contains some of the oldest mining claims in the state of Washington.

Many mine remnants still remain in nighthawk today from the Nighthawk Mine and Kaaba-Star Mine.  The Kabba Texas was removed and leveled in 1999.
