The Lone Rock mine is located near the former Blewett town site on the east side of Peshastin Creek. The mine was owned by John Olden an early Blewett mining pioneer.

The mine is located in a peridotite formation.  Within the Blewett District, the peridotite, with its resultant alteration of serpetine has a larger distribution than the rocks of any other formation, making up approximately three-fifths of the total area.
